Tom Peters - Guitar:
Tom began teaching guitar in 1973 at the highly acclaimed Chicago School of Music, where he studied under the guidance of Joe Rumoro Sr., one of the leading guitar players in the city.
 
Tom had an early start in music playing brass instruments with Chicago Boys Club Concert Band, and through high school in the All City High School Band, followed by two years of Military Service performing with the 30th Army Band in Germany. After leaving the Army he dedicated himself to the study and mastery of the guitar.  At this time he began his professional career playing guitar and electric bass with local groups.  Tom completed his military commitment playing guitar with the Air National Guard Stage Band and flute with their Concert Band.
 
In the 70's and 80's Tom played lead guitar with "Showcase" a popular Chicago group, and worked as a freelance Guitarist doing many jobbing dates including theater productions with "Grease", "Little Shop of Horror's", "Company" and "Oliver", to name a few.  All this while carring a full teaching schedule as an assistant band director at three elementary schools and with 60 private students.
 
Tom teaches all styles of popular guitar:  Blues, Jazz, Rock, Alternative, Metal, and Classical, concentrating on developing musical knowledge, reading skills, technique, music theory, and improvisation.  He tailors his lessons to fit each individual's wants & needs.

Students range in age from 6 to 79.
